Mental Health for Families Grant

With God’s leading, our aim is to champion families towards thriving in their commitment to Christ, adoption, and the healing and restoration of God’s children.

Welcome to Preston Ranch Ministries! We are committed to helping adoptive families thrive by offering financial assistance for mental health expenses for families. It is our privilege to support families on their post-adoption journey, and we look forward to getting to know your family through the application process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preston Ranch Mental Health Family Grants are for mental health expenses for families with adopted children. Although our hope is to cover all granting requests, grants are contingent upon available funding, the number of applications received, and the family’s financial situation.

Applications may be submitted once every two years per family for expenses incurred by a licensed U.S. mental health provider (or overseen by a licensed U.S. provider) with up to $150 per therapy session reimbursed after all insurance is billed and exhausted. Reimbursements will be processed monthly based on submitted receipts until the full grant amount is used. Grant funds apply only to expenses incurred after the application is completed.

Separate applications for other grant categories (medical care, individual mental health and crisis intervention) may be submitted during the two-year wait period for the family’s adopted child. Applications must be submitted before the specified child, around whom the family is receiving therapy, turns 18 and funds will expire when the child turns 20. Grants are non-transferable and intended to cover mental health expenses for family, couples, or sibling therapy related to an adoption.

If there is a change by postponement or withdrawal from the mental health process, change in mental health provider or change in adoption status, the applicant must notify Preston Ranch Ministries via email at grants@prestonranch.org.

Applications must be submitted online, with contact information for a pastoral reference. Applications are accepted from Colorado residents with a maximum Adjusted Gross Income of $150,000.

While not required for approval, Preston Ranch Ministries may occasionally request a matching contribution from the applicant’s church to maximize assistance and ensure families receive comprehensive care from both their faith community and our ministry.

We encourage applicants to seek trauma-informed mental health providers to ensure a safe and trusting environment for the family and child.
